About Us_

C.D. Productions is a Los Angeles based theatre company that started with a nineteen-year-old actress, Avalon Stone, who was determined to step beyond the realm of acting and explore theatre's bigger picture. With instinct, determination, and a desire to build immersive, magical worlds, C.D. Productions was born. What began as “nothing” quickly became something tangible: a scrappy, ambitious, and creative company driven by passion and possibility. Every production, every rehearsal, and every risk taken has been part of that transformation—turning limited resources into expansive storytelling and a single vision into a growing creative force.
A defining moment in that journey came at Long Beach Shakespeare Company, where Avalon Stone met Phoebe Balson during a production. What started as a shared creative experience quickly became a meaningful friendship and an enduring partnership. Together, they have navigated the learning process with openness and trust, building something they are proud of through hard work and a bit of luck. While C.D. Productions is still very much a work in progress, it is a journey they are wholeheartedly committed to—one filled with growth, collaboration, and an exciting vision for the future.
Avalon Stone
Artistic Director
Avalon Stone founded C.D. Productions in 2023 at just nineteen years old, guided by a lifelong passion for storytelling and a belief in the magic of live theatre. She began acting at the age of eight and, shortly after graduating high school, discovered her love for directing, where she could shape entire worlds from the ground up.
The company’s inaugural production, DNA by Dennis Kelly, remains especially close to her heart. Avalon fondly recalls the early days of that process—late nights spent side by side with her assistant director, equal parts inspired and sleep-deprived, tackling both artistic questions and delightfully impractical challenges, like tracking down thirteen real tree stumps and somehow fitting them into a car far too small for the task. It was chaotic, exciting, and full of life—the perfect beginning.
Those moments of determination, creativity, and shared excitement helped shape the spirit of C.D. Productions.
While founding a theatre company as a teenager may seem ambitious, Avalon’s goal has always been simple and sincere: to create meaningful work, share her love of theatre with her community, and form close friendships with fellow thespians.
